The Pink Horn

Life kind of changed for me when I figured this thing out... I can make anything that my imagination thinks of. Cat ears and a unicorn ? Sure, no problem. The Downtown LA arts district is just a 15 minute drive, my craft boxes are pretty stacked and paper mache recipes can be found on Google. Three hours before my friends kickback (that's what we kids call it these days) I brought the SPARKLE UNICORN CAT to life and it was one of those intense craft situations where I was moving, glueing and thinking at the pace of a mad scientist on too much aderall. I love the finished product and I will most defiantly be manifesting more accessories that I day dream about in this brain of mine. As for the outfit? It's so mismatched to the point that it becomes amazingly matched.

The Golden Heart Awards

I had the fairy wonderful honor of being invited to The Golden Heart Awards Dinner last week. The dinner was held at The Beverly Wilshire Hotel where 400 guests came to honor Tim Allen and Jason Sinay for their participation as volunteers in The Midnight Mission. Prior to the event, I was cruising town and peacefully eating my sandwich at Mendocino Farms with absolutely no sense of our man made time system. Oh no, " I have one hour to get ready". Let me tell ya that for a girl who can easily spend four hours getting ready....this scenario was not okay. As if injected with speed, I spent the next hour immensely disrupting about every room and closet in the apartment in search of an outfit "cocktail attire" appropriate as it is not my usual go-2. My one hour concluded to a black vintage dress, rhinestone necklace I adopted as a head piece, my absolute favorite faux fur jacket and a fabulous little pearl on my upper cheek... quite the Gatsby inspired outfit. I don't believe this ensemble would have survived without every single one of it's sparkly accessories being included.

Upon leaving The Beverly Wilshire, I felt cozy knowing the difference that The Midnight Mission has made and continues to make in the lives of people who are deeply lacking one thing or another. In addition, I was truly inspired and reminded of the importance of contribution & giving to our fellow human beans.

A Juicy Nizessity

Accessories & clothing have taught me a very important lesson in life; detachments from attachments. How you ask? Well I've had and continue to have this issue of losing almost everything I purchase, although it is improving. It's happened so frequently that if I was to hype over it every time, my hair would rapidly turn white way before I planned on designing the white wig in my 90's. I've always imagined what I would find if there was a magic treasure room (like in the Disney movie Halloween Town) that held hostage everything that I've ever lost or misplaced...maybe one day! FURTHERMORE, I've been in this physical dimension for 20 years now and tangible items have unfortunatley(I'm broke) and fortunatley(they mike me feel cozy inside) had the pleasure of causing my heart to blush, many times. But never has a pair of sunglasses made my heart blush until I saw these striped cateye glasses from Juicy Couture. As I pondered amongst a shelf of the everyday habitually framed sunglasses, my eyes twinkled at the sight of a fearlessly striped frame. Just as any other lovestruck human would do, I tried them on & it was love at first sight, literally. They simply make any outfit just that much funkier. We have fallen in love & plan on enjoying our time together before the Lost & Never Found Treasury breaks us apart.

All over the Overall

As the little sister was preparing to embark on her first Coachella journey, she couldn't help but notice that her Plain Jane overalls were feeling lonely. She walked on over to my Transformation Factory for a minor "Nizzing" procedure. Everyone can adorn their overalls ( or anything else) in their own Transformation Factories as all you really need are craft flowers, a glue gun and your creative eyesies.
Caterpillar ------> Butterfly, basically
It's those little details that complete the all of the overall

This is a crystal rhinestone, obviously...

Horn(y) Head

In the midst of the very familiar leisure activity of dress-up, Brinnay's young horomones got to her head and before we knew it she was standing among the full length mirrors... transforming into a Horn(y) Head. We all know that no Horn(y) Head is a complete Horn(y) Head without some method of sparkles & flowers. The Horn(y) Head species rambles about nature's garden by day and ventures under the sparkly sky by night, obviously in search of another Horn(y) Head to play and nuzzle with.

Family Photos & A Bloo Coat & Broken Boots

I’ve posted about my unicorn sparkle baby before and here it is again as we just had our first family photos. As far as fashion goes, this outfit carries just about everything that I admire and adore; platform boots from JetRag that broke the first time I wore them, black leggin’s cause what would I do without them duh, bindi + beanie mmm, cookie monster faux fur jacket from TopShop during my first NY trip, hoboLovin backpack from Venice Beach & unfortunately the coat’s blue massiveness stops you from seeing the Bob Marley shirt that I covered with flowers and Swarovski crystals…but it’s there…vision it. When I got dressed I was visioning myself as a funk master funk child going to school. This child would totally be the type to have tye-dye stained fingers, broken boots she refuses to throw away, her tent would be the funkiest you’ve ever seen and after homework she hangs out at this spot that glows glowworms.

I have so much love for ya Ms.BlooFaux

SpeciesSpotlight: ELVIS

Once Upon a Time, I was styling at a Guess fashion show & as usual my eyes pondered on over to where the models were getting their hair & makeup did... aka the Before & After $tation. Then suddenly my eyes were violated in the best possible way by this hair artist with some severe style pizzzazz. Leather, jewelry on jewelry, hair with a style sense of it's own, named Elvis & I obviously had to take a picture...

I present to you Elvis Zavaleta: 4 Real Talented Magician ART1$T in hair & makeup & personal $TYL3

Like an animal kingdom, the style kingdom has a medley of different species that reside in certain habitats, interact with certain creautures & some camoflauge better here then there. This species is tricky to define because It's a mixture of a lot of different contrasting which is why I'm pretty sure this is the Synthesis Species. It was born in like 6 different eras &  so it has this empowerment to dress as untamed as it f*cking wants. The more fashionably undisiplined the more self-disiplined it is. I'm going to lose my mind trying to put this into words but these are the types of pictures that remind me why I have this infatuation with clothing & how it literally speaks.
